Our committment
TechForGood is committed to conducting business responsibly, ethically, and in full compliance with applicable laws, including the Australian Modern Slavery Act 2018 (Cth), and aligned with international standards such as the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights and the ILO Conventions.
We acknowledge that modern slavery — including forced labour, human trafficking, child labour, debt bondage, and other forms of exploitation — is a severe violation of human rights affecting millions globally. As an organisation committed to social impact, we recognise both our legal obligations and our moral responsibility to identify, prevent, mitigate, and remedy risks of modern slavery within our operations and supply chain.
Scope
This policy applies to:
- All TechForGood employees, officers, directors, and contractors.
- All suppliers, vendors, distributors, consultants, and business partners engaged in providing goods and services to TechForGood.
Compliance with this policy is a mandatory condition of engagement with TechForGood.
Policy Commitments
1. Zero Tolerance
We will not tolerate any form of modern slavery, human trafficking, forced labour, debt bondage, deceptive recruitment, or child labour in our operations or supply chain.
2. Due Diligence & Risk Assessment
We conduct structured supplier due diligence and risk assessments, prioritising suppliers in high-risk geographies, industries, or labour categories. All suppliers are required to adhere to TechForGood’s Supplier Code of Conduct, which prohibits modern slavery and sets out minimum labour, human rights, and environmental standards. Where risks are identified, we will engage with suppliers to support remediation. Where a supplier fails to comply or refuses to remediate, the relationship will be terminated.
3. Employee & Supplier Training
All TechForGood employees receive training on modern slavery risks, reporting mechanisms, and responsibilities. Suppliers in high-risk sectors are required to complete awareness training or demonstrate equivalent training for their workforce.
4. Monitoring, Reporting & Remediation
We maintain effective internal and external grievance and whistleblowing channels, allowing stakeholders to report concerns confidentially and without retaliation. Reports of suspected modern slavery are investigated promptly, with corrective actions prioritising victim protection and remedy.
5. Transparency & Accountability
TechForGood will publish an annual Modern Slavery Statement in accordance with the Australian Modern Slavery Act 2018. This statement will outline identified risks, due diligence processes, remediation steps, effectiveness measures, and progress over time. We align reporting with B Impact Assessment standards to ensure robust stakeholder engagement and measurable outcomes.
6. Collaboration & Continuous Improvement
We collaborate with industry peers, civil society, and government initiatives to advance systemic efforts to eliminate modern slavery. This policy is reviewed and updated at least annually, or sooner if significant regulatory changes or emerging risks arise.
Governance
- Board Oversight: TechForGood’s Board of Directors holds ultimate accountability for ensuring compliance with modern slavery legislation.
- Executive Responsibility: The Head of Operations and Impact (or delegated officer) oversees policy implementation, supplier engagement, and reporting.
- Employee Responsibility: All employees must comply with this policy and report any concerns through the designated channels.
Conclusion
TechForGood is committed to creating supply chains that are safe, fair, and free from exploitation. Preventing modern slavery is an ongoing responsibility that requires vigilance, transparency, and collaboration with all stakeholders. Through this policy, we affirm our commitment to protecting human rights, meeting legal obligations, and driving positive impact across our operations and supply chains.
