The HPE LTO-7 Ultrium Data Cartridge C7977A previously called the HP C7977A LTO7 Ultrium Data Cartridge holds up to 6TB in native or uncompressed capacity, with up to 15TB of compressed data (type of data dependant). The HPE LTO Ultrium7 tape cartridge uses the new recording technology Barium Ferrite (BaFe) which improves reliability, longevity and density. The HPE LTO 7 data cartridge C7977a can be read and written to in all LTO7 Ultrium 7 drives and libraries and all LTO-8 Ultrium 8 drives and libraries.

Drives that use the HP LTO7 tape C7977A are recommended to use the HPE LTO Ultrium Universal Cleaning Cartridge C7978A to keep the drive clean.
Tape libraries that use the HP LTO7 tape C7977A are recommended to use the HP LTO7 Ultrium RW Barcode label pack Q2014A for their random LTO7 tape & LTO7 cleaning tape barcode labels.

Storage & Operational Requirements for HPE LTO-7 Ultrium tape cartridges

HPE LTO-7 tape cartridges should not be used or stored outside these parameters

• Operational Environment Temperature: 10-45 degrees centigrade
• Short Term Storage Environment Temperature: 16-35 degrees centigrade
• Archival Storage (long-term) Environment Temperature: 16-25 degrees centigrade
• Wet Bulb Environment Temperature (Operational, Short & Long Term Storage): not to exceed 26 degrees centigrade max.
• Operational Environmental Humidity: 10-80% relative humidity
• Short Term Storage Environmental Humidity: 20-80% relative humidity
• Archival Storage (long-term) Environment Humidity: 20-50% relative humidity
